Job summary

Midwest Petroleum is seeking a Groundskeeper to maintain the exterior of its locations and assist the maintenance team. The role includes organizing and inventorying tools and materials within the warehouse, plus general landscaping and cleaning duties across Midwest Petroleum sites.

Essential duties include trash removal, inventory checks, walkway cleaning, weatherproofing, winterizing, and basic snow removal.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• 1 year minimum experience in landscaping.
• Experience with commercial-grade lawn equipment preferred.

Job description

As the Groundskeeper, your primary responsibility is to maintain the exterior of Midwest Petroleum locations. The Groundskeeper will also assist other maintenance team members as directed by the Maintenance Manager. This position requires organizing and inventorying tools and materials within the warehouse. The majority of the work involves general landscaping and cleaning of Midwest Petroleum locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Clear all trash, weeds, brush, and debris from retail locations.
• Inventory all groundskeeping supplies and ensure they are safe and in good working condition.
• Sweep or blow all hotel roadside entrances, walkways, and hotel back areas.
• Prepare outdoor areas for various weather conditions by:
  • Weatherproofing
  • Tying down unsecured items
  • Winterizing
• Remove snow during winter conditions and keep outdoor areas safe during bad weather, including spreading deicer on walkways and steps.
• Perform light excavation using shovels, picks, and other tools to dig trenches and level ground.
• Handle any other work assigned at the supervisor’s discretion.

Education and Experience Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Minimum 1 year experience in Landscaping related field
• Experience with commercial grade lawn equipment preferred
