St. John’s Meadows seeks a Groundskeeper to assist the grounds crew in caring for and maintaining the grounds of St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone.

You will learn to operate lawn and snow/ice equipment, work under supervision, and contribute to a warm, safe environment for elders and staff. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid NYS driver’s license, plus dependability, self-motivation, and fluent English.

Position Summary: Groundskeeper assists the grounds crew with the care and upkeep of the grounds at St. John’s Meadows and Brickstone. Able and willing to learn to operate lawn and snow and ice control equipment; able to work with and take direction from others and to learn and improve; self-motivated with the initiative to undertake and efficiently complete assigned tasks; good customer service skills. Flexibility in scheduling a must.

Qualifications & Education Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent; possess a valid NYS driver’s license

Body Movements:

• Walking, lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, bending, and reaching are required in the accomplishment of tasks. Has the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Exposure to Conditions:

Working in extreme weather conditions; operating lawn and snow removal equipment;

exposed to dirt, dust, grease, oil, chemicals and noise; working on machinery; climbing ladders; work on electrical and plumbing
