Job summary

The Town of Amherst Recreation Department seeks a part-time Groundskeeper to maintain the municipal golf course landscape, operating large and small machinery and performing semi-skilled grounds maintenance tasks. The position is 19 hours per week and pays $18.82 per hour.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of grounds maintenance experience, plus a valid Massachusetts driver’s license.

AMHERST Groundskeeper Groundskeeper Town of Amherst Recreation

Department Amherst Recreation seeks a Groundskeeper responsible for

maintaining the municipal golf course landscape through the operation of

large and small machinery and the performance of semi-skilled grounds

maintenance work. This is a part-time, seasonal position 19 hours per

week. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent, PLUS

one (1) year of experience in grounds maintenance; OR an equivalent

combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates

the ability to successfully perform the responsibilities of the

position. Valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator?s license. Working

knowledge of the tools, methods, and materials used in grounds and golf

course maintenance and construction. Experience using the listed tools

and equipment. Experience performing semi-skilled maintenance and manual

tasks. Ability to perform moderate to heavy manual labor for extended

periods in varying weather conditions. Ability to understand and execute

instructions and written instruction materials. Working knowledge of

safety protocols and standard operating procedures, including OSHA
