Job summary

Tucson Unified School District is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Attendant who travels to district sites and assists with maintaining school grounds and athletic playing fields.

Minimum requirements include basic math skills and strong verbal and written communication in English. A valid Arizona driver’s license, FBI background check, immunization proof, and pre-employment physical and lift test are required. This is a 1.0 FTE, 12-month position; benefits apply to full-time hours.

• Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions.

Requirements Prior To Start Date

• FBI fingerprint background check.
• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.
• Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and lift test.
• Valid Arizona Driver’s license
• MVReport – showing no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.

FTE: 1.0 – 8 hours per day

Work Calendar: 12 month

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.

Internal candidates will transfer at a rate commensurate with their bargaining unit language.
