Responsibilities

• Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns; plant and prune flowers, trees and shrubs; weed or mulch.
• Safely operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as mowers and leaf blowers.
• Clear debris from walkways and parking lots; empty outdoor trash receptacles; light exterior maintenance.
• Identify hazards and apply ice melt or snow removal during winter months.
• Monitor and repair sprinkler/irrigation systems to ensure proper watering.
• Adhere to OSHA standards and company safety policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Goodwill Staffing Services is looking for a Grounds Technician (Temporary-Position) in Corpus Christi, TX.

DUTIES:

• Lawn & Garden Care: Mow, edge, and fertilize lawns; plant and prune flowers, trees, and shrubs; and pull weeds or apply mulch.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain landscaping machinery such as mowers, tractors, leaf blowers, weed eaters, and chain saws.
• Facility Upkeep: Clear debris from walkways and parking lots; empty outdoor trash receptacles; and perform light exterior maintenance like fence repair or pressure washing.
• Safety & Hazard Removal: Identify and remove hazards like fallen branches or uneven paving, and apply ice melt or shovel snow during winter months (if applicable).
• Irrigation Maintenance: Monitor, troubleshoot, and repair sprinkler and irrigation systems to ensure proper watering.
• Picking up trash, Mowing, Weed eating, cleaning brushy area, and painting, addionital duties as assigned.
• Adherence to OSHA standards in relation to the proper use of chemicals and equipment involved in the day-to-day completion of custodial cleaning tasks.
• Empty trash containers and replace trash bags. Discard trash in appropriate location.
• Adheres to and enforces safety and loss prevention procedures to prevent injury to personnel and damage to property, equipment and inventory.
• Ensures all operations are performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.

PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• A valid state driver's license is frequently required to operate company vehicles.
• 1 to 2 years of related experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or facility maintenance.
• Ability to work in hot/cold, humid and/or dusty environment
• Ability to bend, push, reach and stand for long periods of time
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop; kneel; crouch or crawl; talk or hear.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
