Prep Baseball Tournaments is seeking a Grounds Superintendent for the Championship Park Complex in Kokomo, IN. The complex features 8 synthetic fields, a 3,000 spectator stadium, and serves as home to the Kokomo Creek Chubs.

The role requires managing field upkeep, facilities, and seasonal staff to uphold high standards of quality and safety. The position is full-time year-round with a salary range of $60,000–$65,000 DOE, plus a performance bonus and comprehensive benefits including health,

Qualifications

• A degree or certificate in a horticulture related field is helpful but not required.
• CSFM designation is preferred but not required.
• Prior knowledge and experience working on a baseball field is preferred.
• Must be willing and able to occasionally work early mornings, late nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Ability and desire to work with others to develop and lead a team including interns and seasonal staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintain playing surfaces and facilities to high standards.
• Lead and schedule seasonal staff and interns.
• Perform field, dugout, and accessory area cleaning and maintenance.
• Oversee landscaping, building maintenance, and custodial tasks.

Company Overview:

Ground floor opportunity with a rapidly growing company based in Indianapolis. Prep Baseball Tournaments owns and/or operates numerous private baseball tournament-only complexes across the country. We are customer centered with emphasis on providing high-end, high tech baseball tournament facilities. Tournament season is typically from March through October. The high intensity tournament season is during June and July.

Job Overview:

Prep Baseball Tournaments is looking for a Grounds Superintendent for the Championship Park Complex in Kokomo IN. The complex has 8 full synthetic fields: 4 full-size fields, 4 junior-size fields and a separate 3,000 spectator stadium which is home to the Kokomo Creek Chubs. The Superintendent works closely with the General Manager for Creek Chubs, Tournament directors/Operations Managers at Championship Park to operate and maintain the complexes to high standards of quality, aesthetics and cleanliness. Along with a full time Assistant Superintendent and seasonal staff the Superintendent is responsible for the overall upkeep and maintenance of the baseball playing surfaces and related facilities, common areas and landscaping, building maintenance, building custodial, parking lots, seasonal staff hiring, training, supervision and scheduling.

Job Environment and Expectations:

Applicants should enjoy working in a fast paced, rapidly changing baseball tournament environment in a variety of weather conditions. Non-game day activity includes training and scheduling of seasonal staff in the performance of synthetic field and related facilities maintenance and repairs, mowing, trimming and landscape maintenance of common areas, fence repairs, deep cleaning of restrooms, cleaning and washdown of dugouts, field perimeter and common areas, maintenance of buildings interiors and exteriors and other duties as assigned. Game day and tournament activity includes field and dugouts maintenance and cleaning between games, trash management, clean and stock restrooms, keeping common areas clean and safe. We take pride in providing spectators and players with a clean and safe environment in which to enjoy baseball.

Requirements:

Compensation:

Full-time, year round position. $60,000 – $65,000 DOE annual salary, annual performance bonus, vehicle allowance, phone , laptop, company participating health, dental, vision, and disability insurance plans with generous employee coverage, paid vacation, holidays and sick leave, matching 401K program, and company clothing provided. Complete package $72 to $78,000 annual compensation package. Strong advancement potential due to rapid growth. Scholarship program.
