Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is seeking a Summer Grounds Assistant to maintain a safe, inviting outdoor campus environment for students, employees and the public to enjoy.

Essential duties include cutting grass, planting and watering flowers, weeding beds, debris cleanup, and assisting with moving crew or Fleet Garage as needed. Work is on-site, up to 25 hours per week, Monday through Friday 6 AM to 2 PM, with weather precautions and physical demands.

Qualifications

Physical Requirements

• Lifting, pushing, pulling from 50 to 100 pounds for extended periods of time.
• Bending, stretching, twisting, stooping, kneeling, squatting.

Working Conditions & Environmental Factors

• Work is performed 100% on site in a variety of weather conditions including but not limited to: cold, heat, wind and rain.

Hours/Scheduling

• Up to 25 hours a week

Monday thru Friday 6 AM to 2 PM

Communicate

with Supervisors and Groundskeepers regarding any issues observed in the assigned area.

Collaborate

with coworkers to create aesthetically pleasing landscapes on campus for all to enjoy
