The Prince William County Department of Parks and Recreation has a part-time opportunity for a Grounds Specialist. Parks and Recreation (DPR) is a Department of Prince William County. We provide a broad range of recreation and leisure services and amenities to meet the changing needs of the County's growing and diverse population. The Department manages more than 4,000 acres of parkland and recreational facilities, including more than 50 parks, two water parks, two fitness & aquatic centers, two community centers, four outdoor pools, three 18-hole golf courses, two marinas, and nearly 200 athletic fields.
The part-time Maintenance & Operations Specialist is responsible for maintaining grounds and amenities at County parks, buildings, and schools. The ideal candidate enjoys physical exertion as much as operating equipment. Responsibilities may include turf maintenance, athletic field maintenance, landscape maintenance, and park amenity maintenance. Responsibilities typically require adaptation of procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to meet the specialized requirements of the position. The Maintenance & Operations Specialist applies procedures and standards to specific situations, troubleshoots problems and issues commensurate with relevant experience, and works under general supervision.
This is a part-time position of up to 30 hours per pay period, with work primarily scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.
$31.50-$36.98/hr
