Job summary

The Town of Wake Forest is seeking an employee to perform unskilled landscaping and maintenance tasks in the streets division, primarily in the cemetery and surrounding grounds. The role involves mowing, trimming, cleaning, leaf collection, and assisting other crews on street maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include operating light equipment, using hand tools, and following safety procedures while working outdoors in all weather. A valid NC driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in construction or grounds maintenance preferred.
• Valid North Carolina Driver's License required.
• CDL Class B with N Tanker endorsement preferred.
• Traffic zone flagger certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs mowing and groundskeeping at cemetery and other grounds.
• Removes leaves and debris; trims shrubbery and landscapes ground.
• Assists in laying out grave sites and answers public inquiries.
• Maintains streets and rights-of-way; operates pickup trucks and light equipment.
• Sets up traffic zones and assists with signing for construction and flagging traffic.
• Performs routine maintenance and simple repairs on equipment.
• Works as part of leaf collection crew and supports other departments as needed.
