Job description

The purpose of this position is to perform grounds maintenance, airfield and infield landscaping, and general building maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs landscaping of airfield and infield to keep grass in compliance with FAA regulations.
• Conducts inspections of airfield to determine areas of that require attention.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as needed.
• Monitors property grounds and security fence to ensure compliance with TSA regulations.
• Inspects security perimeter fence for any erosion issues.
• Performs general building maintenance.
• Operates snowplow or tractor with a plow to clear runway and taxiway during winter weather conditions.

Supplemental Functions:

• Performs other similar duties as required.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

• Positions in this class require: vision, foot controls, hearing, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, sitting, pushing/pulling, climbing, balancing, twisting, talking, kneeling, bending.

• Heavy Work: Exerting 50 - 100 pounds occasionally, 25 -50 pounds frequently, or from 10 up to 20 pounds constantly.

• Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, respiratory hazards, noise and vibrations, and physical hazards.
