The City of Charleston, WV is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform upkeep on public grounds, greenspaces and historic parks under supervision. This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least six months of grounds maintenance experience, plus a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, trash pickup, planting, minor repairs, and operating equipment. The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and service to the community.
The purpose of this class within the organization is to perform maintenance and upkeep on public grounds, green spaces and/or historic parks in for a department, division or work unit.
This class works under close supervision according to set procedures.

High School Diploma or GED.
Six months in grounds maintenance or closely related experience.
