Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Grounds Maintenance Tech will perform groundskeeping activities to ensure that Company grounds are clean and well maintained.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Inspect and clean the grounds daily
• Physically walk the property frequently, removing litter and debris from the grounds
• Perform grounds maintenance tasks such as bush/tree trimming or removal, edging, weed eating, painting (curbs, parking spaces or other items), sign and fence maintenance, mulching, and miscellaneous grounds repairs
• Perform grounds enhancements, such as planting flowers, bushes, or trees
• Assist in the safe and orderly removal of trash, as required by local procedures
• Assist in the safe and secure movement and/or storage of property
• Report any unsafe conditions
• Repair roadways, including smoothing non-paved surfaces and filling potholes
• Assist with maintaining the shop and storage areas in a clean, orderly, and safe condition
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Valid US driver's license and satisfactory driver record required
• Willingness to operate Company vehicle
• One year of maintenance experience required
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities
• Problem-solving skills with an analytical thought process
• Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
• Physical ability to lift, lower, carry, push, or move objects up to 80 lbs; ability to stand, walk, reach, kneel, crouch, and handle work-related supplies and tools

WORKING CONDITIONS

Work is based in a busy training environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Work outside in inclement weather, including heat, cold, and humidity, is required. Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration may occur. Personal protective equipment must be worn as per safety standards. Normal hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, with possible extended hours or weekends. Work schedule may vary.
