Grounds Maintenance - Seminole County Rest Area

Job Summary

Responsible for performing assigned grounds maintenance duties efficiently and effectively.

Essential Functions
  • Perform ground maintenance support according to contract specifications.
  • Mow, edge, and trim lawns.
  • Blow and dispose of lawn debris, ensuring green and healthy grounds year-round.
  • Fertilize grounds as scheduled.
  • Maintain appearance of bushes, shrubs, and vegetation.
  • Ensure equipment (gas and electrical) operates safely and properly.
  • Report equipment issues and repair needs to supervisor promptly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • No minimum experience or education required.
  • Pass background screening for access to work areas.
  • Pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of grounds maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with disability services and multi-division organizations.
Skills and Abilities
  • Good communication skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills; professional and service-oriented.
  • Reasoning ability to evaluate issues and draw conclusions.
  • Attention to detail for quality work.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record if driving is required.
Physical and Environmental Requirements

Repetitive lifting, push/pull, carrying, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, standing. Up to 60 pounds lifting. Outdoor work in various environmental conditions. Use of PPE required. Exposure to hazardous materials.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Full Time: $16.17/hour
  • Shift: 1st shift, 8am-4pm, Monday-Friday
