Job summary

Government Contracting Resources, Inc. is seeking a Grounds Maintenance/Laborer to perform outdoor maintenance across building grounds, including lawn care, pruning, erosion control, and seasonal work. Emphasis on safety, detail, and teamwork in a federal contractor environment.

You will operate hand tools and power equipment, perform routine repairs, manage cleanup, and support emergency and facility upkeep as needed. A high school diploma and base access eligibility are required.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleanup, mowing, trimming, and edging of grassed areas and lawns.
• Maintains flowers, shrubs, tree beds, and replacement thereof.
• Handles general maintenance tasks including pruning, seeding, fertilizing, and irrigation support.
• Operates hand tools and power equipment; washes and maintains department vehicles and equipment.
• Provides routine maintenance and minor repairs to grounds, roads, sidewalks, fences, and drainage structures; assists with emergencies.
• Maintains tools/equipment and communicates with management and customers.

Job Summary

The Grounds Maintenance/Laborer will perform various tasks associated with grounds maintenance outside of the buildings.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Performs routine cleanup, cutting, trimming, and edging of all grassed areas and lawns.
• Performs maintenance of flowers, shrubs, tree beds, and replacement thereof.
• Completes general leaf clean-up, tree pruning, tree removal, sod installation, seeding, fertilizing, liming, thatching, aerating, irrigation, erosion control, watering, and back-filling.
• Handles materials (loading, unloading, digging, hauling, hoisting, carrying, wrapping, mixing, pouring, spreading); washes and cleans cars and trucks and department equipment; cleans grounds and other areas; and performs other general maintenance work, by hand or using common hand-tools and power equipment.
• Provides routine maintenance and minor repairs to ground structures such as improved and unimproved roads, parking areas, sidewalks, fences, retaining walls, storm drainage ditches, window wells, and catch basins; performs heavy weather services (snow removal); refuses collection and disposal, and provides services necessary to cope with emergencies such as those resulting from accidents, natural disasters, equipment breakdown, floods in buildings from roof leaks, overflowed restroom fixtures, sinks, sprinkler systems, water pipes, and other utilities.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Maintains tools and equipment in good condition; plans and organizes assignments effectively.
• Maintains a professional, positive, and helpful attitude at all times when interacting with customers, coworkers, and supervision.
• Maintains effective communication with management, employees, and customers.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary

$20.00 - $20.71 per hour
