Job Title: Landscape Contract Worker

Location: West Point, NY

Rate: $18.62/hr

Employment Type: FT, PT or per-diem Available

Hours: Roughly 7a-3:30pm

Job Description:

The Grounds Maintenance Contract Worker maintains the grounds of the facility, repairs structures and equipment, and performs tasks such as:

  • Cutting grass using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.)
  • Trimming hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells using hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools
  • Pruning shrubs and trees with shears and hand tools
  • Spraying lawns, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide
  • Planting grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs
  • Watering during dry periods using hoses or sprinkler systems
  • Removing leaves, paper, or litter
  • Removing snow and spreading salt on walkways and areas
  • Repairing and painting fences, gates, benches, tables, and outbuildings
  • Assisting in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment
Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous landscaping experience or related training
  • Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation
