Job Description

Position Summary

The Grounds Maintenance workers are key team members that perform various tasks to maintain a functional and pleasant outdoor and indoor environment. This position also includes parking lot attendant duties. Hilltop manages multiple parking lots, and maximizing capacity on busy days is essential for efficient utilization, while ensuring roadways and turnarounds remain accessible for emergency vehicles.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assist guests and employees in parking efficiently and uniformly
  • Assist in snow removal around the lodge and walkways
  • Apply ice melt to sidewalks and walkways
  • Mow lawns around the lodge and adjoining grounds
  • Assist in landscaping along roads and around Hilltop buildings
  • Assist in carpentry projects
  • Undertake special projects as directed by the Mountain Manager
  • Inspect landscape equipment to ensure safe operation
  • Assist with preventative maintenance tasks
  • Perform manual labor such as loading, unloading, lifting, and moving materials and equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities, vehicles, and equipment
  • Be alert to potentially dangerous situations on roads and walkways
  • Communicate with supervisors and co-workers via radios
  • Keep parking areas clean, neat, and free of trash and debris
  • Respond to guest questions with patience and friendliness
  • Collaborate effectively with all departments, respecting guests and staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Pass pre-employment background check
  • Reliable transportation
  • Clean driving record
  • Able to work up to 40 hours per week, including holidays, weekends, and evenings
  • Relevant education and experience demonstrating necessary skills
  • Experience operating small equipment (skid steer, excavator, plow truck)
  • Willingness to perform manual work following instructions
  • Ability to work independently and follow work schedules
