Job summary

Dickinson Independent School District Facilities Services is seeking a Grounds Worker in Dickinson, Texas to maintain safe and attractive grounds for the district and prepare athletic fields.

Starting date is immediate; a valid Texas driver’s license is required. Responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, sprinkler inspections, and safe tool operation in all weather conditions. This is a full-time on-site role with duties across district facilities.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to operate power-driven equipment.

Responsibilities

• Mow and detail all district grounds.
• Follow scheduled maintenance plan for lawns, trees, shrubs, and flowers; water, prune, fertilize, mulch, beds, weed control.
• Plant shrubs and vegetation.
• Assist with preparation of athletic fields for games.
• Collect and dispose of leaves, dirt, rubbish and refuse.
• Assist with inspection, repair and installation of sprinkler systems.
• Operate tools and equipment following safety procedures.
• Follow safety procedures including lifting and climbing; report unsafe conditions.
• Keep vehicle, equipment and tools in safe condition; perform preventive maintenance.
• Transport workers and equipment to job sites; perform other duties as assigned.
