Job summary

Southeast Berrien County Landfill Authority is seeking a dedicated laborer to support site maintenance, waste handling, and safety compliance at the local landfill. The role includes litter collection, landscaping tasks, and cleaning duties to keep the facility presentable and safe for workers and the public.

Physical stamina is essential, with duties requiring lifting up to 50 pounds and daily exposure to dirt, noise, and varying weather.

Responsibilities

Collect scattered litter
Lifting and moving materials
Performs various landscaping tasks such as mowing and weed eating
Digging and refilling holes, painting, cleaning offices and bathrooms
Pressure wash equipment
Other duties as assigned by supervisors
Required to use motor coordination with finger dexterity most of the day
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds most of the day
Required to be exposed to physical occupational risks (such as cuts, exposure to chemicals, etc.) occasionally
Required to be exposed to the physical environment which involves dirt, odor, noise, weather extremes or similar elements daily
Participate in safety training and attend safety meetings. Adhere closely to all safety policies and regulations in order to assure the safety of yourself, other employees, and the public
