Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a reliable Landscape Laborer to maintain property grounds by mowing lawns, trimming edges along walkways and beds, pruning shrubs and trees, and assisting with planting and irrigation tasks. On-the-job training is provided.

You will operate mowers, blowers, sprinkler systems, and assist with snow removal and salting as needed to keep pedestrian and vehicle areas safe. A valid driver's license and being 18+ are required; no degree is necessary.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a valid Driver's License.
• No high school diploma required.
• On-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Maintain property grounds.
• Ensure proper maintenance of mowers, blowers, and sprinkler systems.
• Perform a range of landscape maintenance duties including leaf removal, pruning shrubs and trees, fertilizing, lawn care and watering.
• Remove litter and empty trash cans.
• Clean roads, parking lots and walks to ensure safety of pedestrian and vehicular traffic.
• Perform basic carpentry and painting tasks.
• Remove ice and snow from walks, roads and lots, including the application of ice melter and road sand.
• Establish new plants and plantings both in landscape and through greenhouse culture.
• Use manual and automatic watering systems to ensure adequate moisture for plantings.
• Perform safety checks on equipment and recommend any necessary changes to leader.
• Maintain safe work areas during and after work projects.
• Clean spills as needed, including body fluids.
