Job summary

Plymouth State University is seeking a Grounds Worker to perform a range of skilled and semi-skilled tasks, including turf and landscape maintenance, equipment operation, and assistance with events. The role supports campus facilities and responds to weather and seasonal demands.

Candidates should have at least one year of grounds maintenance experience, a valid NH driver’s license, and comfort with heavy equipment.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in grounds maintenance or a related field.
• A valid NH driver’s license.
• Snow removal experience.
• Equipment maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform turf maintenance: mowing, fertilization, irrigation, seeding, sodding, aeration, site prep, and athletic field layout and painting.
• Pruning, cabling, fertilization, irrigation, insect/weed control and removal of trees/shrubs/flowers.
• Construct and maintain sidewalls, patios, retaining walls, benches, signs, stairs; sweep and maintain hard surfaces.
• Operate and maintain equipment (tractors, dump/plow trucks, mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, bucket trucks, rototillers, salt spreaders, snow blowers).
• Assist with moving and special events; act as crew leader when assigned.
• Report under emergency conditions such as snow removal, downed trees, and stormwater maintenance.
