Job summary

Work includes operating and repairing irrigation systems, assisting with snow removal, and supporting campus facilities across year-round operations.

Responsibilities

• This position is located at the National Institute of Standards and Technology, Office of Facilities and Property Management, Boulder Facility Maintenance Division.
• The primary purpose is the operation, repair and maintenance of exterior grounds and systems in a research and development facility/campus.
• As a Grounds Maintenance Mechanic, you will: perform a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of grounds, buildings and related structures, fixtures and utilities.
• Install, operate, maintain and repair exterior civil/building systems.
• Perform basic plumbing and carpentry, maintain and operate the site irrigation, maintain the grounds landscape through mowing, line trimming and pruning.
• Perform site irrigation duties which include operating and repairing the irrigation system throughout the site; may assist with snow removal and act as backup to the snow crew chief.
