Job summary

City of Owensboro is seeking a Grounds and Facilities Maintenance Supervisor to oversee laborers, maintenance workers, and equipment operators, ensuring tasks are completed safely and efficiently. The role inspects and maintains properties, performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting and landscape work, and schedules daily crew workloads.

Requires associate degree or 2+ years in facilities/grounds maintenance; valid driver's license, plus CDL Class B, pesticide, CPR/First Aid, and

Qualifications

• Associates degree or minimum 2 yrs. work-related experience in facilities maintenance with grounds maintenance emphasis.
• Equivalent amount of education and/or work experience is acceptable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• CDL, Class B or higher, Pesticide license, CPR/First Aid, and Playground Inspector certifications required within 11 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Oversees grounds operations and monitors crews to ensure tasks are completed safely.
• Inspects and maintains properties, facilities, and equipment.
• Performs carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, and other upkeep tasks.
• Digs ditches, maintains parks, landscapes, and flowerbeds.
• Maintains athletic courts and fields for public use.
• Assists with assigning daily work schedules for crews.
