Job summary

The City of Stafford is seeking a Maintenance Worker to perform technical maintenance and operational activities across streets, drainage and landscaped areas. You will operate, service and maintain a variety of small equipment or tools, and contribute to keeping public spaces safe and presentable.

Applicants should have a High School Diploma or GED and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination, plus a valid Texas Driver's License.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Ability to perform heavy work and lift up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance and operational activities.
• Operate, service and maintain a variety of small equipment or tools.
• Clean, edge and mow street and drainage right-of-ways.
• Trims trees, shrubbery and maintains landscape.
• Monitors and maintains assigned areas, facilities, and equipment; removes trash or debris; prepares site and equipment for necessary repairs or cleaning; maintains traffic control as required.
• Contributes to a work environment that respects diverse backgrounds and experiences.
• Subject to 24 hour recall and possible overtime during emergencies.
