Job summary

Tarrant County College District (TCCD) is seeking a Grounds Equipment Operator to maintain campus grounds at Southeast Campus. The position reports to the DT Physical Plant department and follows a 6:00am–3:00pm schedule, Monday through Friday, with no remote work eligibility.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and related experience. Candidates should be skilled with motor-driven equipment and have a customer-service orientation; lifting up to 50 pounds is required.

Responsibilities

• Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth; removes damaged leaves, branches, or twigs.
• Cleans grounds and removes litter.
• Plants trees and shrubs.
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts.
• Operates front-end loader and backhoe.
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower and spreader.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the assigned department leader, this role is responsible for maintaining the grounds of an assigned portion of the campus.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Performance Requirements*

• Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth; removes damaged leaves, branches, or twigs
• Cleans grounds and removes litter
• Plants trees and shrubs
• Cleans out drainage ditches and culverts
• Operates front-end loader and backhoe
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower and spreader

Service Excellence

• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
• Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College

Supervision

Works under the general supervision of the assigned department leader
