Job description

Edgebrook Golf Course, located in Chicago, IL, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a Full‑Time Grounds Crew! We are seeking a motivated individual who is interested in contributing to a positive experience for our members and guests while continuing to grow their knowledge of golf club operations. As an associate of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Role Type: Seasonal (Position will last 6 months or less)

Pay: $17.75 - $18.00 per hour

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
• Mows greens, aprons, fairways, roughs, tees, and other areas
• Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
• Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
• Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees, and fairways
• Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
• Applies pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers to the golf course
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skill Requirements

Must possess the ability to design, coordinate, and maintain landscaping on the golf course

Experience with operating greens/fairway mowers preferred

Must possess the ability to create spray programs for the golf course, including greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and landscaping

Must possess the ability to operate all tools and equipment related to golf course operations

Ability to give oral and written instructions

Skilled in seeding, fertilizing, mulching, and general ground preparation for restoration and renovation

Must be dependable
