Job summary

The Breeden Company is seeking a Full Time Grounds/Maintenance Associate for Woodbriar Apartments in Chesapeake, VA. The role requires upkeep of grounds, exteriors, and common areas, plus basic maintenance tasks and resident interaction.

You will assist in preparing market-ready units, perform trash outs, and help with snow removal when needed. A valid driver’s license and a professional demeanor are essential to succeed in this onsite role.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain grounds, amenities, building exteriors, leasing office, parking lots, and other community buildings.
  • Remove trash from office areas and perimeter daily.
  • Assist in preparing market-ready units, including trash outs prior to make-ready.
  • Assist service supervisor/manager and/or perform maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assist in cleaning available apartments and models.
  • Assist maintenance team with snow removal if applicable.
  • Report maintenance concerns for repairs on apartments, models, clubhouse, and common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Meticulously maintain curb appeal and represent the community professionally.
  • Deliver communication documentation to residents and contribute to resident retention programs.

GROUNDS (Chesapeake, VA)

Full Time Manual Labor Woodbriar Apartments, Chesapeake, VA, US

Salary Range: $17.50 To $17.50 Hourly

In this role, you are responsible for the upkeep of a multi-million dollar multifamily asset.

PRIMARY DUTIES (including but not limited to):

  • Responsible for meticulous upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and leasing office, parking lots and other community buildings.
  • Remove trash from office areas and apartment community perimeter daily.
  • Assist in the preparation of market ready units, including removing trash from vacant apartments (trash outs) prior to make-ready.
  • Assist Service Supervisor/Community Manager and/or perform assigned maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
  • Assist in the cleaning of available apartments and models.
  • Assist maintenance team with snow removal (If applicable).
  • Assist in the troubleshoot/repair of mechanical, carpentry and electrical problems.
  • Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, models, clubhouse, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Supervisor.
  • Meticulously maintain curb appeal.
  • Assist management team with other various tasks required.
  • Represent the community in a professional manner at all times-on/off property.
  • Deliver communication documentation to residents.
  • Contribute to resident retention programs.
  • Ensures that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner.
  • Learns and ensures compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules.
  • Immediately report all unsafe conditions.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Neat, clean and professional at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present in the community.
  • Operating vehicle and driver’s license required according to community needs.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills for communicating with residents, co-workers, and senior management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, or kneeling.
  • Must be physically able to operate power equipment.
