Job Requirements

Starting Pay Rate:$18.00 hourly

Day Shift available

The Groundskeeper will support The Cove's outdoor operations by maintaining landscaping, grills, fire pits, and trash removal. Ensure the cleanliness, safety, and upkeep of outdoor areas through regular maintenance and seasonal tasks.

What does a Groundskeeper do?

  • Operates mowers and string trimmers to maintain property.
  • Assists with tree and shrub maintenance including planting, transplanting, pruning, and removing and maintain mulch beds with rakes and removal of weeds
  • Cleans exterior of cottages & equipment prior to check ins
  • Operates small hand-powered equipment and large Ride On mowers with constant awareness of safety standards.
  • Daily garbage collection at public trash cans, bi-weekly garbage collection at cottages.

Work Experience

To be successful as a Groundskeeper, you'll need:

  • a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma (required).
  • a valid NYS Driver's License (required).
  • Experience in grounds maintenance and landscaping (preferred).
  • Knowledge of and the ability to operate hand power tools and light motorized equipment.
  • Must be able to adhere to strict safety standards at all times.
  • Must be able to work in both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold; subject to noise and hazards such as proximity to mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current and exposure to gases, chemicals, fumes, odors, poor ventilation and oils.
  • Must be available to maintain flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 75 pounds.
