Job Title: Grounds/Maintenance Custodian

Reports To: Facilities Director, Lead Person in assigned building, and Building Administrators.

General Description: Provides a clean, safe, attractive, and comfortable environment by performing preventative and service maintenance for facilities, equipment, and properties.

Responsibilities:

• Perform groundskeeping and routine maintenance, including custodial duties as needed.
• Maintain waste disposal and recycling processes.
• Mow grass, fertilize, weed, and care for playing fields and property areas.
• Handle outside duties such as leaf removal, snow plowing, trench digging, exterior repairs, and storm cleanup.
• Repair equipment and machinery; perform minor electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC tasks.
• Deliver supplies and equipment promptly.
• Line and maintain athletic fields and keep areas clean.
• Maintain outside storage areas and windows.
• Remove graffiti with assistance from the lead person.
• Ensure safety and security of assigned areas; respond to after-hours calls when necessary.
• Check and perform minor repairs on heating and cooling devices, including servicing belts, oil, filters, and motors.
• Sharpen blades and maintain small engines.
• Keep records of gas usage, services, and work hours.
• Collaborate with staff and supervisors for the district's benefit.
• Transport equipment and assist with district projects.
• Stay updated on technological changes through workshops and seminars.
• Maintain school grounds by trash pickup, trimming bushes and trees, and general upkeep.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.
