Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC seeks a Groundperson to support underground electric utility installations and directional drilling operations. You will help with jobsite setup, equipment support, material handling, and safety compliance under the supervision of the area general foreperson and crew foreperson.

You will work closely with drill operators, equipment operators, and apprentices to ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently, including exposure to night work and variable

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Class A CDL is required.

Responsibilities

• Performs all work from ground level.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist installation per contract specs.
• Communicates work to public and property owners.
• Performs other duties assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on ground for installation by lineperson or apprentice.
• Flags traffic and maintains site safety.
• Operates and handles hand tools and basic digging devices.
• Hours can extend into night and exceed an eight hour day.

Groundperson

Under the supervision of the area general foreperson and the crew foreperson, the groundperson is responsible for supporting directional drilling operations involved in the installation of underground electric utility facilities. This position assists with jobsite setup, restoration activities, equipment operation support, locating and potholing utilities, handling materials, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment. The groundperson works closely with drill operators, equipment operators, and apprentices to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all customer, company, and regulatory requirements.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Performs all work from the ground.
• Clears work area around structures.
• Excavates to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specification.
• Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
• Will perform other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.
• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
• Will flag traffic.
• Operates various tools for the work (various manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come a long, jack hammer and hand line etc.).
• Working hours will extend into night and will exceed an eight hour day.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Class A CDL

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

Pre-Screen
