Job summary

Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC is seeking a Groundperson to support the area General Foreperson with switching, maintenance, and construction of substation equipment. The role emphasizes adherence to protective measures and conducting routine substation inspections to ensure safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include ground-level work, area clearing, material assembly, traffic flagging, and coordinating with apprentices.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
• Pre-employment drug screen, background and/or MVR check may be required.

• Working hours may extend into night and exceed an eight hour day.

Groundperson

Under the supervision of the area General Foreperson, this position will be responsible for switching, maintenance, and construction of substation equipment including implementation of all necessary protective measures for preventative and reactive maintenance duties and performing routine substation inspections. Provide an efficient and safe work environment for employees and contractors in strict accordance with all customer and company practices and procedures along with leadership for all Operator/EMJ apprentices.

• Will have contact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.

• Will perform other duties as assigned by Foreperson relating to utility line work.

• Assembles material on the ground to be installed by the lineperson or apprentice.
