Job description

The groundperson is responsible for gathering and feeding brush & debris into a woodchipper, scanning areas for trip and fall hazards, and ensuring other workers stay out of the path of travel. This position also involves maintaining equipment and materials.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Operate chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
• Drag, gather, and feed brush into the wood chipper.
• Service and maintain vehicles and equipment in good condition.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years or older.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Pre-Screen

• May be required to pass pre-employment drug, background, and MVR checks.

License & Certifications:

• Driver's License preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Sitting, crawling, climbing poles, and other activities are occasionally required.
• Stand, walk, and perform manual tasks frequently.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. and working in various weather conditions are also required.

Safety

Employees must be able to work safely around hazardous equipment and in challenging environments, maintaining attention, endurance, and communication skills throughout their shift.

• Work around hazardous equipment and noise.
• Work in all weather conditions and on uneven ground.
• Wear protective gear and handle physical demands safely.
