Job summary

PowerGrid Services is seeking a rugged, safety-minded crew member to remove vegetation along utility rights of way and operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and brush cutters. You will work outdoors in varying weather conditions, loading materials and following strict safety procedures to support infrastructure projects.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred), ability to pass DOT medical and background checks, and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• CDL is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a DOT Medical Card.
• Must pass drug, alcohol and background checks.
• Must have good hand-eye coordination.
• Must repair tools and equipment as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks involving physical manual labor.

• Load and unload trucks, hauls, and hoist materials.
• Ensure safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Operate hand and power tools.

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient removal of vegetation along rights of way for infrastructure projects such as roads, powerlines, or pipelines. Responsible for operating machinery such as bulldozers, excavators, or brush cutters to clear trees, brush, and other obstacles in designated areas.

Job Duties And Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of tasks involving physical manual labor.
• Maintain a neat and clean job site to avoid potential hazards.
• Perform materials handling and storage.
• Load and unload trucks, hauls, and hoist materials.
• Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
• Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
• Clean and prepare job sites.
• Dig trenches.
• Clean up rubble and debris and remove waste material.
• Prunes and remove vegetation using chainsaws, hand saws, Mowers and other tools and equipment.
• Removes and chips brush.
• Applies herbicide according to label instructions, state and industry standards.
• Work from bucket or ground.
• Assists crew members and other departments.
• Demonstrates continued learning and progression of responsibilities, skills, and abilities to progress in the department.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.

• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.
• Able and willing to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to enter and exit vehicles numerous times per day.
• Must be able to wear PPE.
• Understanding of the utility industry and operations.
