The Space Sciences Laboratory at University of California, Berkeley is seeking a Ground Software & Systems Manager for the Mission Operations team. You will lead design, development, and operations of the ground segment, interact with NASA and ground-station providers, and supervise staff to meet ambitious science goals.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of software/applications programming for satellite ground systems.
• Experience with IT assets that interface with space ground systems (hardware/software).
• Experience with Ground Station providers worldwide to interface networks.
• Experience supervising staff and setting work objectives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain hardware and software connecting the Berkeley Mission Operations Center to ground networks.
• Supervise the Berkeley Ground Station facility (hardware and software).
• Perform advanced software programming in the Mission Operations System (e.g., C, C++, Python).
• Develop code that integrates SSL tools with external tools; manage two-way encryption with space assets.
• Design, develop, modify and evaluate software and supporting hardware for complex areas.
• Support NASA reviews and meetings; travel to troubleshoot systems.
• Provide design and verification data to NASA for spacecraft integration.
