Job description

Ground Systems Engineer designs and develops space‑to‑ground communication systems for GEO satellite products, leads DevOps teams, and drives integration and testing to meet global customer requirements. This role manages supplier relationships and ensures system performance and reliability across interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design space‑to‑ground communication systems, including RF links and ground stations.
• Lead DevOps teams through the ground segment product lifecycle to meet customer requirements.
• Drive integration and testing activities to ensure compatibility with spacecraft and ground systems.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize system performance and reliability.
• Analyze technical trade‑offs and present solutions to the program team.
• Prepare and review technical documentation, including unit‑level requirement flow‑downs and verification.
• Develop relationships with ground system suppliers, managing design, manufacture, assembly, integration, and testing of subsystems.
• Define and prepare Statements of Work and specifications, contributing to problem solving and ensuring successful deliveries.
• Participate in overall tasks and services inherent to a dynamic fast‑growing organization as needed.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8 years experience in satellite communication engineering with expertise in space‑to‑ground systems.
• Real‑world experience with system architecture, requirements definition, flow‑down, tracking, and performing system‑level analyses for trade studies.
• Demonstrated ability to trade‑off and optimize performance, resolve complex technical problems, manage technical work with partners, and conduct technical development projects.
• Familiarity with space protocols, specifically CCSDS.
• Good understanding of end‑to‑end space encryption and encryption standards.
• Proven ability to write clear, high‑quality technical documentation.
• Excellent customer focus and communication skills across cultures and organizational levels.
• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or equivalent.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience managing customer and supplier interfaces is a plus.
