Job summary

Strativ Group is seeking a Mission Operations Engineer to support the design, testing, and operation of next-generation ground systems for advanced aerospace platforms. You will work across software and hardware teams to automate testing, support mission operations, and improve system reliability.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years in GCS design/test, with strong Python/Ruby scripting, SDR/RF experience, and proficiency in UI/UX for operational software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, Physical Sciences or related discipline.
  • 5+ years experience designing or testing Ground Control Systems (GCS).
  • Experience testing aerospace or other complex mission-critical systems.
  • Proficiency in Python, Ruby, or another scripting language.
  • Experience developing automated test scripts and validation tools.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX principles for operational software.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
  • Software Defined Radio (SDR) or RF hardware.
  • Simulation and visualisation tools.
  • Beyond-Line-of-Sight (BLOS) communications.
  • Telecommunications, aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, or satellite technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and automate test procedures for ground systems.
  • Develop scripts, internal tools, and user interfaces to support testing and mission operations.
  • Manage Linux-based environments and administer distributed ground system infrastructure.
  • Support mission planning, live operational activities, and post-mission data analysis.
  • Analyse large datasets to validate system performance and identify anomalies.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to verify and validate system requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes and system reliability.

Job description

Working on behalf of an innovative aerospace technology organization, I am recruiting for a Mission Operations Engineer to support the development and operation of next-generation high-altitude platform systems (HAPS). This position sits within the Mission Operations team and focuses on the design, testing, maintenance, and operation of mission-critical ground systems supporting advanced aerospace platforms.

The successful candidate will work across software, hardware, and operational teams to develop ground control capabilities, automate testing, support mission execution, and improve overall system reliability and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and automate test procedures for ground systems.
  • Develop scripts, internal tools, and user interfaces to support testing and mission operations.
