Job summary

The Inland Group of Companies (IDS and Quantem Aviation Services) is hiring a Ground Support Equipment Mechanic for the MCO location. This full-time day-shift role involves performing checks, maintenance, and repairs on GSE and related equipment, with 30%–40% travel to other QAS stations.

Qualifications

• Valid U.S. driver's license.
• Must provide own basic tools such as screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, volt meter, etc.
• Sockets and wrenches up to 1 inch in size and up-to a ½" drive
• Must be able to pass required background and clearance to obtain an airport badge
• This position requires an employee to obtain a US CBP seal (Orlando, FL)
• US citizenship or permanent resident status required for CBP seal
• Must be available to travel 30% per year minimum
• Knowledge of fluid types, diesel-powered machines, and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Working knowledge of manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Diagnostic experience with diesel-powered machines, preferably with GSE
• Direct working knowledge of electrical/hydraulic systems
• Day shift schedules (including weekends and holidays)

Responsibilities

• Perform checks on Ground Service Equipment (GSE), trucks, and servicing equipment as needed.
• Maintain maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections to keep equipment safe and operational.
• Assess and respond to necessary repairs and maintenance of all GSE as assigned.
• Communicate daily with team members and leadership on equipment status and next shift expectations.
• Ensure a safe environment and compliance with company policies.
• Travel to other QAS Airport stations.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Participate in performing checks on Ground Service Equipment (GSE), trucks, and servicing equipment as needed.
• Maintain complete and accurate maintenance records and conduct scheduled and unscheduled inspections of equipment to keep it in a safe and operational condition at all times.
• Assess and respond to necessary repairs and maintenance of all GSE as assigned.
• Communicate daily with team members and leadership to ensure that all are informed about equipment status and expected outcome from the next shift on maintenance items that are outstanding.
• Ensure a safe environment during the operations and that all company policies and procedures are being followed correctly.
• Travel to other QAS Airport stations
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Valid U.S. driver's license
• Must have own basic tools (screw drivers, hammers, pliers, volt meter etc.).

• Must be able to pass required background and clearance requirements to obtain an airport badge
• This position requires an employee to obtain a US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seal.
• Orlando FL CBP requires US citizenship or US permanent resident status in order to receive a CBP seal.
• Must be available to travel 30% per year minimum
• Knowledge of fluid types, diesel-powered machines, and tools including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
• Working knowledge of manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools
• Diagnostic experience particularly with diesel-powered machines, preferably with GSE used by ground handlers (tugs, Bobtails, Forklifts and etc.)
• Direct working knowledge of electrical/hydraulic systems.
• Day shift schedules (including, weekends, and holidays)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience with information entry into a CMMS system
• Previous fleet, Mechanic shop or, dealership work experience preferred.
• Previous experience diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and Hydraulics systems
• Experience with GSE and or, mobile field service trucks associated equipment.
• ASE or manufacturer certifications highly desirable.

TRAVEL:

• Ability to travel on short notice to other QAS airports stations to meet immediate business needs may be required. 30% - 40% per year, company vehicle will be provided for travel distances 6 hours or, less away. Airfare will be provided for any distances beyond 6 hours.
