Job summary

Iridium Satellite LLC is seeking a Manager, Ground Software to lead a high‑performing team in developing and sustaining mission‑critical ground systems for SDA projects. You will guide software for resources scheduling, flight dynamics, and data handling within a satellite operations environment.

The role requires 8+ years in software engineering, strong leadership, and familiarity with Agile/Scrum practices. A current or obtainable Secret security clearance is needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in software development and leading a team of engineers.
• Experience with agile practices and SAFe is a plus.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Ability to mentor engineers, plan releases, and drive performance improvements.
• U.S. Citizenship or ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Foster and develop a high-performing team of software engineers for ground system software.
• Mentor team members, provide feedback, and manage conflicts.
• Develop and optimize software for mission planning, network management, and flight dynamics.
• Plan and execute software releases in line with program schedules and budgets.
• Contribute to Agile/Scrum practices using Atlassian tools and SAFe methodology.
