Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking talented interns to work with the broader engineering team on ground software for our satellite platforms. You will gain hands-on experience, own a scoped project, and receive mentorship while you contribute to the software that operates our satellites.

The 12-week program includes learning sessions, peer networking, and events designed to elevate your aerospace knowledge. Spring interns may adjust academic commitments as needed to complete the program.

Job description

Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge.

For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles.

About the Role

We are seeking talented engineers to work closely with the broader engineering team for an exciting internship opportunity. This person is passionate about engineering, ready to take ownership over complex challenges, and a strong desire to learn about all things satellites.

During the 12-week internship program at Apex, you'll gain hands-on experience and professional growth opportunities. You'll be assigned a project to give you the opportunity to have real impact. Throughout the project you'll have a dedicated mentor to guide you, while participating in learning sessions to elevate your knowledge of aerospace. Plus, you'll connect with peers and industry professionals during our community events, making this a well-rounded experience to launch your career!

Ground Software: Interns will work alongside our engineers as a fully integrated member of the team, contributing to the design, development, and deployment of the software that operates our satellites. Work can include owning a scoped project as well as taking on meaningful tickets across our ground software stack.
Requirements:

Graduating in the Fall of 2027 or in the Spring of 2028

Currently pursuing a BS or MS degree in related field

Strong understanding of software architecture

Experience with Rust, C/C++ for backend, Vue or React for frontend is preferred.
Note: Spring interns should be available to pause or adjust academic commitments (such as taking a semester off or enrolling part-time) for the duration of the program

Additional Information:

Compensation ranges are set by role, level, location, and alignment with market data. A candidate's specific level and base pay are determined case by case and may vary with job-related skills, education, experience, technical capabilities, and internal equity. Beyond base salary, full-time hires are also eligible for long-term incentives in the form of stock options, along with medical, dental, and vision coverage and a 401(k) retirement plan.
