Job Description

The Ground Service Attendant is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the aircraft, vehicles, and ground equipment used in the operation, as well as assisting with the departure and arrival of the Lāna’i Air aircraft. Safety of guests and assets is of utmost importance, and the attendant must ensure adherence to safety protocols. The team interacts regularly with Logistics Coordinators, Western Aircraft crew, and maintenance teams, emphasizing clear communication for smooth and safe operations. The primary goal is to support increased occupancy for the Four Seasons Resorts on Lāna’i.

Compensation

$21.16/hour (non-exempt). This is a casual position.

Reports to: Operations Manager – Lāna’i Air

Supervises: N/A

Responsibilities
Essential Duties
  • Position aircraft to meet daily flight and maintenance needs.
  • Provide aircraft marshaling using hand signals for safe maneuvering.
  • Handle baggage, load/offload, and service inbound and outbound aircraft according to procedures.
  • Perform FOD inspections.
  • Transport guests via vehicle or golf cart between airport, lounge, or aircraft.
  • Operate company vehicles, radios, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure vehicles are fueled properly.
  • Perform other assigned duties.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Previous airline experience preferred.
  • Experience in physical labor or warehouse environments.
  • High professionalism and hospitality when interacting with guests.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions and exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment with a positive attitude.
  • Accountability and responsibility are essential.
  • Skilled in multitasking and managing constant workload.
  • Professional and harmonious teamwork with co-workers and vendors.
  • Problem-solving skills and resourcefulness during irregular operations.
  • Knowledge of aviation regulations, safety standards, and operating practices.
  • Successful completion of all required training.
  • Flexibility to work within a 24/7 schedule, including weekends and holidays.
Required Work Cards/Certifications
  • Obtain and maintain Airport Operational Area (AOA) badging and ramp license from Hawaii Department of Transportation.
  • Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and review of Motor Vehicle Record.
Physical Requirements
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Regularly sit, talk, listen; occasionally stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Lift/move up to 70 pounds regularly.
  • Require close, distant, and color vision.
