Job summary

Loftorbital seeks a Senior Ground Segment Engineer to design and operate software that manages our fleet of in-orbit satellites and prepares for diverse satellite buses. You will configure Loft’s Cockpit mission control, expand ground segment connectivity, and coordinate with ground station providers and product teams.

You will lead cross‑fleet planning, optimize resource use to maximize communications and minimize latency, and collaborate with regulatory teams for licensing and commissioning.

Qualifications

• 4-5 years relevant experience in ground segment or satellite connectivity.
• Knowledge of RF ground station and intersatellite link configurations.
• Familiarity with CCSDS/ECSS standards, TCP/IP, UDP.

Responsibilities

• Manage architecture for ground station and inter-satellite link connectivity solutions.
• Own cross-fleet contact allocation, planning, and satellite connectivity configurations.
• Support satellite operations including on-call during commissioning.
• Own network infrastructure alerting (ground station availability, anomaly detection, ISL stability).
• Own ground segment management: project, cost, contract, RF licensing coordination.
