Job summary

Lucas Tree Experts in Columbia, SC is seeking a Ground Operations Technician to join our outdoor crew. Full-time, year-round position with on‑the‑job training and potential for industry certifications, including CDL training paid by the company.

You will perform manual vegetation removal, operate forestry equipment, and assist with line clearance, pruning, and removals while maintaining safety and reliability on the job site.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ and have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

• Must pass post-offer physical, drug screen, and background checks.

No experience in the tree industry is necessary. Lucas Tree Experts provides on‑the‑job training for those willing, able, and interested in learning this skilled trade, as well as opportunities to earn multiple industry certifications with wage increases.

Full‑time, year‑round outdoor position demanding physical labor. Duties include manual removal of vegetation from work areas, running various forestry equipment, performing line clearance, pruning, and removals.

Requirements

Must be able to work 45 hours weekly.

Must be 18 years of age with a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Must have a current and valid driver’s license with reliable transportation.

Must be able to work outside in various weather conditions.

Must be physically able to walk on uneven ground, carry 75 lbs., and work at varying heights.

Must be willing and able to learn how to run a bucket truck, operate equipment safely, and obtain a CDL A or B license (paid by the company).

Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain licenses and certifications required by the position in order to grow your career (paid by the company).

Must successfully complete a post‑offer physical & drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle check.
