Lucas Tree Experts is seeking a Ground Operations Technician / Arborist Trainee in Dover-Foxcroft, ME. The role starts with paid on-the-job training and offers progression through licensing and certifications with wage increases as you qualify. Expect 19–21 USD per hour, with 45-hour weeks and outdoor work in varying weather.

Ideal candidates are self-motivated, eager to learn all aspects of the trade, and ready to grow into licensed arborist roles through structured training and company support.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work 45 hours weekly.
• Must be 18 years or older with HS Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Must be physically capable of carrying 75 lbs.
• Must be willing to work at varying heights and operate equipment safely.
• Must be willing to obtain/maintain CDL A or B and other licenses/certifications as required.
• Must successfully complete post-offer physical, drug screen, background, and motor vehicle check.

Responsibilities

• Duties include manual removal of vegetation from work areas and line clearance.
• Safely operate forestry equipment (skidders, mowers, chainsaws, ATVs) and perform pruning and removals.
• Participate in on-the-job training to learn felling, climbing, rigging, and vegetation management.
