Job summary

Amazon LEO is seeking a Satellite Hardware Development Engineer to lead the design workstream for ground gateway systems, delivering a gigabit modem design from concept to production in Redmond, WA. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers to define, optimize, and test electronics subsystems, lead schematic capture and PCB layout, and prepare designs for manufacturing.

Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and 3+ years of hardware

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
3+ years of hardware engineering experience.
3+ years of experience in using schematic tool (Mentor Graphics Xpedition, Cadence OrCad, or Altium Designer).
2+ years of experience in using lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and multi-meters.

Responsibilities

Own the ground gateway gigabit data rate modem design from concept through production.
Design and optimize different blocks of electronics sub-systems.
Design digital circuitry supporting various protocols in collaboration with various teams.
Lead and review schematic capture and PCB layout.
Optimize PCB stack-up for performance and cost.
Complete board bring-up and perform test campaigns for different modules and subsystems.
Support the transition of the designs to production with the contract manufacturer.
