Qualifications

• EMT must perform patient assessments and interventions within EMS scope of practice.
• Accurate documentation of care and transport activities.
• Effective communication with patients, families and hospital staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care and transport to patients in prehospital and interfacility settings.
• Perform patient assessments, obtain vital signs, and assist with treatments under direction.
• Operate and maintain equipment, stretchers, and vehicles; assist with lifting and moving patients.
• Document care and transport activities in required EMS and hospital systems.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, EMS partners, and receiving facilities.
• Participate in training, drills, and quality improvement activities; perform other EMS duties as assigned.
