CellNetix Pathology & Laboratories in Tukwila, WA is seeking a Grossing Technician I to assist Pathologists' Assistants and pathologists by accurately describing and dissecting surgical specimens in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires a science background, strict HIPAA, good communication, and ability to work evenings. Training first 12pm-8:30pm for a month before shifting; on-site with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science related field or equivalent with required coursework.
• Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and adapt to a fast-paced lab setting.

Responsibilities

• Gross simple to moderately complex specimens.
• Troubleshoot dictation, accessioning, technical & communication issues.
• Gross photography for documentation.
• Handling of certain tissue types for special studies.
• Possible rotation at nearby neighbor clinic.
• Assist in training of new staff and competency assessments.
• Other duties as assigned.

If our mission of patient care resonates with you, Come Grow With Us in Pursuit of Excellence.Position Summary:The purpose of the Grossing Technician I is to provide general assistance to Pathologists' Assistants and pathologists to ensure smooth work flow of the entire grossing department in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work. Under the supervision of the Grossing Supervisor and general technical direction of pathologists, the Gross Tech I is responsible for the accurate description and dissection of simple surgical specimens. The Grossing Technician must adhere to HIPAA standards. Due to various environmental hazards presented in the workplace such as formalin, communicable disease, fresh human tissue, etc., employees must also adhere to strict Standard Operating Procedures and Personal Protective Equipment requirements.Position Schedule: M-F 5pm - 1:30am.
