Job summary

Petco is seeking a Grooming Salon Leader to oversee daily salon operations and lead the grooming team. You will ensure efficient workflows, schedule management, and adherence to quality standards while delivering expert grooming services.

The role requires strong dog-grooming knowledge, leadership skills, and a commitment to pet care. Full-time hours include weekends, evenings, and holidays in a fast-paced, indoor grooming environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of professional grooming experience or completion of a technical grooming training program.
• 1–2 years of salon management or related leadership experience preferred.
• High-school diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interaction with pet parents and team members.
• Expert knowledge of dog breeds, grooming standards, and common health issues.
• Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Passion for animal care and a commitment to professional growth.
• Availability to work full time (minimum 35 hours per week), including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly pay ranges from $15.00 to $30.00, with incentive plans and tips. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time off, Petco discounts, and career development opportunities.

Work Environment

Indoor grooming salon setting. The role requires physical activity such as bending, kneeling, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and standing for extended periods. It may involve exposure to heights (two‑step ladder or other support tools) and working in a noisy, wet environment.
