Job summary

Petco is seeking a Grooming Salon Leader to guide salon operations and a grooming team, delivering expert services and an exceptional customer experience. You will coach entry-level to professional groomers, manage schedules, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.

This full-time role requires passion for animals, leadership ability, and excellent communication with pet parents and staff, with opportunities for career growth within Petco's grooming program.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience as a professional groomer or completion of a technical grooming training program.
• Strong leadership skills with the desire to lead, train, and develop people; 1-2 years salon management experience preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with pet parents and grooming team.
• Willingness to work full time at least 35 hours per week, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to handle pets of all sizes with care and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day grooming salon operations, scheduling, and staffing.
• Recruit, hire, train, and supervise grooming staff; provide coaching and performance evaluations.
• Create and manage grooming schedules to maximize salon capacity and meet demand.
• Monitor salon performance metrics (revenue, customer satisfaction, productivity) and develop improvement plans.
• Collaborate with store management to achieve sales targets and salon objectives.
• Provide exceptional customer service and grooming recommendations to pet parents.
• Perform professional grooming services and maintain tools and equipment.
• Educate customers on grooming maintenance and home care practices.
• Ensure safety and sanitation standards are followed in the salon.
