Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Proactively address slope maintenance snow issues and special builds.
  • Operate groomers, vehicles, snowmobiles, and ATVs daily.
  • Document equipment safety issues, logs, checklists, maps and shift reports.
  • Perform light maintenance or repairs and keep equipment clean.
  • Fuel equipment using safe practices.
  • Work safely around heavy equipment, high voltage, and high pressures.
  • Monitor weather to maintain grooming quality.
  • Report snow levels to Marketing as requested.
  • Notify Snow Plow drivers for parking lot plowing needs.
  • Collaborate with departments to foster a positive environment.
  • Physically perform essential job functions.
  • Maintain punctuality, attendance, and dependability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisor: Grooming / Summer Slopes Supervisor

Department: Grooming / Slope Maintenance

Type: October-Spring, Varying Hours / Seasonal

Position Overview: Groom snow surfaces.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Daily groom slopes and freestyle terrain, remove snow from paths, transport people and freight.
  • Proactive in addressing slope maintenance snow issues, i.e., thin spots, lift area, slope maintenance needs, and special course builds.
  • Daily operation of groomers, vehicles, snowmobiles, and ATVs.
  • Accurately document equipment safety issues, logs, checklists, maps, and shift reports.
  • Perform light maintenance or repairs on equipment and keep equipment clean.
  • Fueling of equipment using safe practices.
  • Work safely in close proximity to heavy equipment, high voltage, and high water pressures.
  • Be aware of upcoming weather conditions to maintain the quality of the grooming product.
  • Report snow levels to Marketing Department as requested.
  • Notify Snow Plow drivers of needs for parking lot plowing.
  • Work together with all departments to build a positive working environment.
  • Physically perform the essential job functions of this position.
  • Show up to work on time, consistent attendance, and dependable.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Environmental Factors:
  • Frequently exposed to high places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; heavy / moving machinery, and vibration.
  • This position is required to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Lifting to waist level of 50 lbs. frequently, above shoulder lifting and / or carrying of up to 25 lbs. occasionally, 80 lbs. rarely.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time while seated, constantly.
  • Manual dexterity and fitness to work repetitive use of hands and tools.
  • Ability to work outside in ANY AND ALL weather conditions constantly.
  • Sight and hearing of acceptable standards for Essential Job Functions
  • The working environment may be stressful when meeting Supervisor needs.

Requirements

Education / Experience:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Two years’ snowmaking experience and grooming experience preferred.
  • ATV/Snowmobile safety training is preferred but not required (will train in house).
  • Valid Washington State Driver License.
  • Background check.
