Job summary

Pet Supplies Plus in New Jersey is seeking Experienced Groomers to join our pack. You will provide grooming services, build relationships with pet parents, and help pets feel and look their best.

The role requires at least 1 year of grooming experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work evenings and weekends. We offer a $1,500 sign-on bonus, commission-based pay, paid time off, and full benefits.

Qualifications

Does your dog have a closet full of clothes? Is your cat so cool he needs to wear shades? We call that “petcentricity”! If you enjoy making pets look adorable and smell irresistible, we are looking for Experienced Groomers to join our pack!

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional, neighborly service at every opportunity during your workday.
• Get nose kisses from a neighbor’s wet golden retriever.
• See excitement and opportunity when you look into a shih tzu’s ear canal.
• Make a former shelter resident look like a dashing, dapper schnauzer again.
• Help a terrier look like a poodle because that’s what the neighbor asked for.
• Delight neighbors and pets with grooming services such as brushing, bathing, and conditioning.
• Groom and style pets per owners’ instruction and/or according to breed standards.
• Ensure the wellness and safety of furry patrons.
• Develop long-term relationships with pet parents by understanding their needs and recommending products and services to keep their pet healthy and happy.
• Perform community outreach to attract new neighbors to our store.
• Successfully complete Safety Training certification.
• Perform routine cleaning to keep the grooming environment fun and inviting.
• Assist store team members during grooming downtime.
• Continue developing skills and pet grooming techniques while advancing in your career.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year or more of grooming experience with formal training certification or experience under an established certified groomer.
• Ability to move or lift merchandise, equipment, or pets weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, or stoop for extended periods of time.
• Ability to provide your own equipment (clippers, blades, scissors, etc.).
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must pass drug screening (in applicable states) and be 18 years or older.

Compensation

Maximum pay may vary based on hours worked and weekly completed grooming services.

Minimum: USD $34,153.60 per year.

Maximum: USD $75,500.00 per year.
