CONTRACT TYPE: Full Time - Live out, Part Time, Permanent

SHIFT & SCHEDULE: 32 hours a week over 4 days, including at least 1 weekend day. Extra hours/days available during busy periods.

Job Description

Experienced Groom required for a private yard located in a lovely location close to Thetford on the border with Suffolk. You will be joining a team of 4 with 2 apprentices who are caring for a variety of horses, including Eventing sporthorses, a hunter, and a Shetland pony. The horses vary in age from youngstock to experienced competition horses.

Hours:

• 8.30am – 5.30pm
• 1 hour lunch break (unpaid)

The yard has great facilities, such as barn stables (a plus in wet weather), outdoor arena, horse walker, paddocks, and excellent hacking.

The Position:

• All yard duties to a high standard
• Riding out on the Estate - hacking
• Non-rider will be considered if preferred

You will be:

• Reliable, punctual with a good work ethic and a genuine love for working with horses
• Confident handling young horses on the ground
• A good rider with the ability to hack out a variety of horses confidently and competently
• A good team player with an easy-going personality
• A car driver with own transport and live within 30 minutes of the yard (preferably)

This is an employed position, and a good hourly rate will be offered to the successful person who can provide fully checkable references.
